Pantaenius - hurricane Irma / Jose information

September 07, 2017

With regard to the passage of hurricanes "Irma" and "Jose" we would like to assist you in the best way possible.

If you are in the affected area and you suspect your yacht has possible damage, please send us the following information by email to irma-uk@pantaenius.com

- Client name/Boat name/ Policy number

- Exact place of your vessel - on land (shipyard name) or at mooring (harbor name and berth number)

- Local contact (name and phone number)

- Last pictures of your vessel before the event

On Wednesday night, the Pantaenius teams arrived in Puerto Rico and Florida where they joined our local partners and surveyors. Slowly but surely, the extent of the damage caused by Hurricane Irma to marinas and vessels in the region is becoming evident. We have still not been able to gain access to all affected areas and, therefore, are unable to make any qualified statements regarding the total number of damaged or lost boats. Following the identification of our clients’ vessels, salvage and wreck removal operations will start as soon as possible. Several nearby companies that are experienced with complicated salvage operations are on standby with their own bespoke salvage tools and ready to sail to the affected areas.

Of course, the wellbeing of those in the area remains, at this stage, the utmost priority. Thus, we are coordinating our work on-site with local authorities in order not to interfere with ongoing rebuilding or emergency measures.

The situation is exacerbated further with the imminent arrival of Hurricane Maria in some of the already Irma-affected regions in the Caribbean.
